Leave Travel Concession Scheme in Business Class

LTC- Executive

Air India introduces the Leave Travel Concession scheme in Business Class for travel on the Domestic network on the lines of LTC-80 fares offered in Economy Class. The details of the Leave Travel Concession Scheme (LTC-EXECUTIVE) offered in Business Class are as under: - Application : All types of journeys in Business Class on Domestic Sectors. Period of Application : Effective 7th June, 2009 till further notice. Eligibility : All Employees of the State, Central Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Educational institutions recognized/aided by Centre, State Government and or affiliated to any of the University / Educational Boards and their family members traveling on leave and availing LTC facility. Child & Infant Fares : Not Permitted. Sales : Restricted within India. Ticketing : On confirmed basis only from Air India booking offices and approved travel agents. Passengers are required to present the Employee identity card at the time of issuance of the tickets for verification and necessary endorsement on the tickets. Validity : Tickets are Non-Endorsable, Non-Reroutable and valid for travel on Air India only. Passengers are required to carry the Employee Identity Card while traveling. Cancellation/Refund : Tickets booked under LTC Scheme are refundable. However Refund Fee of Rs. 100 per ticket will apply if cancelled at least 1hour prior to departure. Tickets cancelled less than 1hour prior to departure will be treated as no-show and No Refund of Fare will be permissible

Corporate Super scheme of Air India

In view of the encouraging response to our Corporate Super Saver offer the scheme is being re-launched for sale with effect from 02nd April 2008.

The details of the new "Corporate Super Saver" scheme is as follows:

Validity Period for Sale: 02nd April 2008 to 31st March 2009

Terms & Conditions: Corporate Super Saver ticket(s):

Can be issued only to Corporate Houses / Companies, against a request letter on the letter head. Can be used by multiple users / employees belonging to the same corporate. However, each user / employee must carry the company issued ID card while traveling with the Corporate Super Saver ticket. Corporate House Scheme benefits will be allowed. Name of the passengers and Sectors of travel can be finalized either at the time of ticket issuance or later at the time of making a reservation. Each coupon can be used on any domestic sector operated with IC / AI code flights where there is no change of aircraft and flight number involved. Bookings for AI code flights can be done 3 days prior to departure date. FFP mileage points of 750 / 500 will be awarded for each Executive / Economy class coupons respectively. Booking will be made in J / W classes as applicable All the coupons will be endorsed with " Non-Refundable / Non-endorsable / Non-reroutable". Tickets can be re-validated (due to No-show or Name change or Sector change) at a charge of Rs. 1000/- per coupon. A one-time Validity extension for 3 months only would be permitted at a charge of Rs. 1000/- per coupon.

No refund is permissible, once the Corporate Super Saver tickets are issued.

Clarification on LTC

Leave Travel Concession Scheme

NACIL is offering you a revised Leave Travel Concession Scheme (LTC-80), which was presently being offered under LTC-30 with effect from 01st December,2008.

Highlights:

Under this scheme you can travel in Economy Class on selected domestic sectors. You can not avail child & Infant Fare or any other discount under this scheme. Tickets booked under LTC Scheme are refundable. However you will have to pay refund Fee of Rs. 100 per ticket, cancelled at least 1hour prior to the departure. But if you get the Ticket cancelled less than 1hour prior to the departure, it will be treated as no-show. you can re-book and change your reservation by paying just Rs.100 per ticket at least 1hour prior to departure. After commencement of the journey you can not Re-Route your booking. For verification you are required to carry the Employee Identity Card while traveling. Your ticket will be Non-endorsable and valid to travel on Air India only. If you are an Employee of the State, Central Government, Public Sector Undertakings or employees of the educational institutions then you and your family members traveling on leave are eligible for availing LTC facility. Under this scheme your booking should be on confirmed basis. You can purchase your ticket under this scheme from Air India booking offices and approved travel agents.

Expenditure managment-Economic measure and Rationalization of Expenditure-Guideline related to LTC

Dept. of Expenditure, Min of Finance vide OM No 7(1)/E.Coord./2008 Dt. 10 Nov 2008 issued guideline related austerity measure to be adopted for LTC Expenditure.
Guideline stipulate that Cheapest Economy fair will be allowed (To those who are entitled by Air travel) for Air travel on LTC irrespective of entitlement .

Misuse of LTC to NER by cash back scheme of travel agents

All Indian Central Govt Group A and B employee with family can travel to northeast region by Air on LTC. Many travel agency using this opportunity to make benefit by enrolling the central government employees to various travel package.

Travel agency can arrange you free lodging, traveling and food on same LTC. Many travel agents are also offering cash back package in hidden form.

Central Government employee should avoid this money cash back scheme, as this can bring you trouble in future.Government intention is to make people travel in north east region, but if you use this opportunity for making money by cash back scheme, it will be treated as forgery.

Here is a sample from a travel website on the cash back offer

"I am group A employee. My question is if for example i plan to go to gangtok and darjeeling, is there any package tour that is available that include both travel and accomodation but the money can be claimed under LTC. I know i can claim the air fare money using LTC. I do not want to pay for accomodation and was wondering if some package deal (under LTC) will cover the accomodation charges.

A welcome step by the Govt. of India and bonanza for its employees particularly those who are not entitled for air travel as per TA/LTC rules.

The Govt. of India employees should avail this opportunity to fulfill their desire to travel by air and also the development of north-east region which is the basic purpose of the scheme.

Employees should also exercise due care to avail of the various discounted fare schemes offered by different airlines to reduce financial burden on the exchequer resulting in sustainability of such schemes.
